Evening Supervisor (Inpatient Unit - Hospice House)

About the Role

The RN Evening Supervisor provides clinical and administrative oversight for the Hospice House during the evening shift. This position serves as the primary administrative authority on-site when the Executive Director or Coordinator is unavailable, ensuring that every patient receives compassionate, high-quality end-of-life care. The role is vital for maintaining operational continuity, managing after-hours facility logistics, and supporting the nursing team through complex clinical and emotional challenges.

In this capacity, you will lead the interdisciplinary team in delivering care that adheres to individualized Plans of Care while managing the unique demands of a fast-paced hospice environment. From conducting regular rounds to monitor patient status and staff performance to providing real-time clinical coaching on symptom management, you will be the anchor of the evening shift. The role also involves overseeing admission and transfer processes, ensuring regulatory compliance, and acting as a mentor to staff navigating sensitive situations such as terminal agitation and respiratory distress.

Work Environment

This role requires working in a dynamic, fast-paced setting where the ability to lift supplies and equipment is necessary. Employees may face moderate to high exposure to infectious agents and routine contact with blood or body fluids. The position demands strong organizational skills to manage multiple priorities independently while maintaining a supportive presence for both patients and staff.

Hours and Schedule

The standard shift runs from 4:00 PM to 12:00 AM. Schedules may be flexible depending on operational needs, including Tuesday-Saturday, Sunday-Thursday, or rotating patterns. A holiday requirement is part of the role.
