As a Teaching - Middle School/Supplemental Instruction Teacher at Cesar Chavez Middle, you will serve as a vital partner in the Waco Independent School District's mission to foster the intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth of every student. This position is designed to help students fulfill their potential by providing appropriate learning activities in core academic subjects. You will enable students to develop the competencies and skills necessary to function successfully in society, acting as a positive role model who supports the district's overarching educational goals.
In this role, you will create a classroom environment conducive to learning that is appropriate for the physical, social, and emotional development of middle schoolers. Your day will involve collaborating with colleagues to determine instructional goals, working cooperatively with special education teachers to modify curricula for Individual Education Plans (IEP), and managing student behavior in accordance with the Student Code of Conduct. You will also serve as a bridge between home and school, maintaining open communication through conferences with parents, students, and staff.
