About the Role
IC Imagine Public Charter School in Asheville is seeking a licensed, dedicated 8th Grade Science teacher to join our Middle School team. This role is designed to fulfill the school's mission of nurturing the intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth of every student.
In this position, you will plan, implement, and evaluate a comprehensive academic program that aligns with NC Standards. You will serve as a leader and coordinator, creating an engaging, age-appropriate course of study that reflects a deep understanding of relevant content. Your day-to-day impact will be defined by your ability to establish effective rapport with students, motivating them to develop the skills, attitudes, and knowledge needed for learning based on their individual abilities.
Beyond the classroom, you will play a vital role in the IC Imagine community. You will lead an advisory group, implement the Second Step SEL Curriculum, and collaborate with teachers, support staff, and families to enhance educational opportunities. You will also manage instructional resources, maintain a positive school climate, and ensure frequent, clear communication with parents and colleagues.
