As a senior staff member at a field camp, you will serve as the operational backbone for a remote science program, likely in an extreme environment such as Antarctica. This role exists to ensure the seamless execution of the season plan by managing all aspects of daily camp operations, maintenance, and the field science program itself. You will act as the primary liaison between the Field Leadership Team, Principal Investigators, and the camp staff, translating high-level scientific goals into daily operational reality.
Your day-to-day involves directing a diverse team of ASC staff, visiting trade personnel, and distinguished visitors. You will oversee critical logistics including air support coordination, cargo movement, skiway construction, and equipment operation. Beyond technical management, you will foster a safe and collaborative environment by conducting safety orientations, enforcing environmental protocols, and maintaining detailed records of camp activities, weather, and emergency responses. This position requires a leader who can thrive in isolation while maintaining rigorous standards for safety and efficiency.
