Assets Protection (AP) teams function to keep our guests, team, and brand secure. We lead through crisis events, protect profitable sales by mitigating shortage risks, and prevent or resolve theft and fraud to ensure product is available for our guests. Beyond security, we build relationships inside and outside of Target, including store leaders and public safety officials.
As a Target Security Specialist, no two days are ever the same. This role is designed to provide you with the skills and experience of using intelligence-led tactics to keep team members and guests safe, managing crisis response and crowds, and utilizing de-escalation techniques alongside physical security controls.\n A typical day involves creating an easy, inspiring, and friendly guest experience. You will greet guests warmly, help them find what they need, and resolve issues to ensure a smooth shopping journey. Simultaneously, you will promote a physical security culture by assessing and maintaining safe standards throughout the store and exterior property. You will respond to and accurately document security incidents, conduct merchandise theft recoveries, and prevent theft at the front of the store through receipt checks and trend recognition.
We provide amazing training to teach you everything you need to know to succeed in this role. However, success requires a welcoming attitude, the ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices, and the capacity to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
