Independent Software is a consulting, product, and solutions firm dedicated to the practical application of software and system engineering technologies to solve complex problems. We bring together world-class engineers with proven best practices, domain expertise, and agile management approaches to create high-value solutions that help customers meet their most critical business and mission objectives.
We are focused on continual learning and evolution, refusing to do things simply because "that's the way we've always done things." We listen to our employees and adapt to the changing marketplace, encouraging engineers to pursue training and certifications in emerging technologies that shape our customers' missions. As a profitable company year after year, we recognize that our employees are the heart and soul of what we do. We focus on recruiting talented people, treating them right, and allowing them to do what they do best—no red tape, no micromanagement.
Our culture is built on the belief that smart people want to work with smart people. We love those who are passionate about finding ways to do things better. Despite our growth, we have retained a small-company feel with a genuine open-door policy. We are a collaborative environment where teamwork allows you to maximize your true potential, and we believe in supporting the causes our employees care about.
As a Level 3 Target Analyst at our Fort Meade, MD location, you will be at the center of real-time intelligence analysis, supporting vital national security operations. Your work is critical to keeping the nation safe and secure, transforming raw intelligence into mission-critical insight that shapes strategic decisions and protects global interests.
In this role, you will prepare synthesized intelligence products by conducting research, analysis, and reporting in response to mission requirements. You will prioritize, assess, evaluate, and report information gathered from various sources for use by government personnel, maintaining awareness of both internal and external customer needs. Working closely with collectors and analysts, you will refine collection and reporting requirements, share target-related information, and provide feedback to customers as needed.
Your day-to-day involves issuing relevant products that communicate developments, trends, indications, warnings, and situational awareness related to specific targets, including recommendations for countermeasures and courses of action when appropriate. You will also assist in developing databases or working aids to enhance target knowledge and improve collection efforts, while performing pre-release quality control functions to ensure the accuracy and reliability of all intelligence products delivered.
At Independent Software, our people are the mission. We have built a company around collaboration, integrity, and innovation, ensuring our team has the tools and support to grow, succeed, and thrive.
