About the Role
We are seeking a Senior-Level Systems Engineer to plan, design, and implement enhancements to network hardware, server infrastructure, and operating systems. This role is pivotal in supporting a mission-critical forensic and investigative ecosystem. You will provide direct operational support for network hardware and operating systems, ensuring the infrastructure remains secure, resilient, and reliable across multi-enclave environments.
A key focus of this position is leveraging extensive expertise in Nutanix hyper-converged infrastructure to architect and maintain advanced systems. You will ensure the robustness of mission-critical infrastructure while meeting the stringent requirements of classified operations. This is a 100% onsite role located with our customer in Chantilly, VA, where you will work within highly sensitive environments to support intelligence operations.

Key Responsibilities

- check_circleEnsure systems are current with approved patches and assist with certification tasks
- check_circleAdvise on selection of technological purchases for processing, storage, and applications
- check_circleParticipate in Program Increments and Agile Release Train activities
- check_circleSupervise, coordinate, design, develop, and implement changes to network hardware and server environments
- check_circleParticipate in planning, design, and technical reviews for new network infrastructure
- check_circleDevelop strategy for client/server systems and design supporting infrastructure
- check_circleTroubleshoot network issues at both physical and logical levels
Requirements
- verifiedBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering or related field
- verifiedMinimum of 10 years of experience in systems engineering or related field
- verifiedActive Top Secret (TS) clearance with eligibility for Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) with a CI polygraph
- verifiedUnderstanding of forensic and investigative system requirements
- verifiedDemonstrated experience designing and implementing secure systems in government environments
- verifiedEnterprise network administration and security for Top Secret enclaves
- verifiedCloud platforms (AWS GovCloud, SC2S, C2S) implementation with security controls for classified workloads
- verifiedLinux and Windows operating systems with security hardening for classified use
- verifiedWindows Active Directory configuration and security in air-gapped environments
- verifiedContainerization (Docker, Kubernetes) in Top Secret environments with enhanced security controls
- verifiedInfrastructure as Code (Terraform) for secure, automated deployments
- verifiedSecurity accreditation processes (RMF, NIST 800-53) for TS/SCI systems
- verifiedCross-domain solutions for secure data transfer between classification levels
Nice to Have
Active TS/SCI clearance with CI Polygraph. Experience implementing Nutanix solutions in classified environments. Nutanix hyper-converged infrastructure design, implementation, and management in classified environments. Advanced virtualization technologies (VSphere, VXRail, Proxmox, Nutanix AHV) for secure environments. Knowledge of specialized security controls for classified hyper-converged infrastructure. Comprehensive understanding of forensic and investigative system requirements for intelligence operations. Background in designing systems for SCIFs and other secure facilities. Experience with cross-domain solutions in Top Secret environments. Prior work implementing secure backup and disaster recovery solutions for classified data. Experience with specialized compute and storage requirements for forensic workloads. Nutanix certifications (NCP, NPX). Security certifications (CISSP, Security+).
