The Amazon Dedicated Cloud (ADC) team within the AWS Commerce Platform is dedicated to helping U.S. Government agencies implement innovative cloud computing solutions. As part of AWS Infrastructure Services (AIS), we own the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We are the team that keeps the cloud running, supporting data centers and the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on.
Our team builds and supports Amazon's billing systems in air-gapped cloud environments, developing services and tooling to improve operational efficiency. We operate at the intersection of business problems and technology strategy, balancing constraints while considering the long-term implications of our design decisions on scalability, availability, and operational readiness.
We foster an inclusive team culture where it is in our nature to learn and be curious. Our employee-led affinity groups empower us to be proud of our differences, and we value diverse experiences, encouraging candidates whose careers may not follow a traditional path to apply.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a world-class team with the entrepreneurial feel of a start-up. As a Systems Development Engineer, you will deliver impact at scale, unlocking the latest billing and cost management capabilities for our US ADC customers. You will design and build the operational scalability that sustains the platform's rapid growth, honing your skills in distributed systems troubleshooting, response, measurement, and automation.
On a typical day, you might deep dive to root cause a customer issue, investigate trending metrics, consult with top engineers, or discuss radical new approaches to automate the remediation of operational issues. You will work collaboratively across the broader organization, pulling in subject matter experts and principal engineers to deliver results. Our team indexes high on earning trust, being right a lot, and insisting on the highest standards, diligently navigating public sector regulatory requirements with the scale of the commercial cloud.
Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status. Our inclusive culture empowers Amazonians to deliver the best results for our customers. If you have a disability and need a workplace accommodation or adjustment during the application and hiring process, including support for the interview or onboarding process, please visit the Amazon Jobs accommodations page for more information.
We value work-life harmony and strive for flexibility as part of our working culture. We are continuously raising our performance bar, offering endless knowledge-sharing, mentorship, and career-advancing resources to help you develop into a better-rounded professional.
