This position is vital to the daily operations of our healthcare environment, ensuring that supplies, equipment, and materials are delivered efficiently to hospital, clinic, and administrative areas. You will be the link between our inventory systems and the front lines of patient care, maintaining cleanliness in storerooms, organizing delivery carts, and ensuring accurate tracking of all materials.
The role requires flexibility, as you may work a 24/7 schedule including weekends, holidays, and on-call availability. You will interact with internal and external customers, identifying their needs and ensuring timely delivery of pharmaceuticals, mail, and other related materials to designated offsite locations.
Because this role operates within a healthcare setting, you will work in patient care areas and may be exposed to blood, body fluids, tissue, and potentially communicable diseases. There is also an occupational risk for exposure to hazardous medications or hazardous waste through the receipt, transport, storage, and disposal of contaminated materials.
You will remain knowledgeable on current federal, state, and local laws, accreditation standards, and regulatory agency requirements. Ochsner maintains a Compliance & Privacy Program and Standards of Conduct, requiring the immediate reporting of any known or suspected unethical behaviors, patient/employee safety concerns, or privacy issues.
