About the Role
The Direct Support Professional (DSP) is much more than a caregiver. You will work to help people realize their full potential as they integrate and engage in fun, rehabilitative, and/or vocational activities. This position is dedicated to creating a safe, positive, and encouraging atmosphere for individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities and low vision or blindness.
In this role, you will serve as a role model, displaying a positive attitude while fostering a supportive team environment. You will get to know the people you serve personally, providing one-on-one and group instruction to help implement goals and treatments outlined in their Person-Centered Support Plans (PCSP). Your day will involve transporting and supervising individuals to and from programs and into the community to promote engagement and independence, all while ensuring safety and compliance with DOT regulations.
