About the Role
The Logistics Accounts Payable (AP) Supervisor within Sherwin Business Services (SBS) serves as the operational leader for daily AP functions across multiple business units. This position is critical for ensuring the accurate, timely, and compliant processing of freight invoices, payments, and vendor records. The role drives process excellence and maintains strong vendor relationships while partnering cross-functionally with Procurement, Treasury, Operations, and General Accounting to support a scalable, well-controlled AP function.
As a leader, you will manage a team of AP professionals, overseeing workload allocation, resolving complex exceptions, and championing continuous improvement initiatives aligned with service-level commitments and control requirements. This role is essential for maintaining the integrity of financial operations and fostering a culture of accountability and problem-solving.
Location and Work Model
This is an on-site position located at our Hinckley Parkway facility in Cleveland, OH. The role is not hybrid or remote.

Key Responsibilities
- check_circleEnsure adherence to company policies, SOX controls, and audit readiness requirements
- check_circleCoordinate weekly payment proposals and cash requirements with Treasury
- check_circleServe as escalation point for vendor inquiries and complex disputes
- check_circleCollaborate with Controllership on accruals, reclasses, and period-close activities
- check_circlePartner with Center of Excellence to drive ERP and AP automation efficiency
- check_circleMaintain standardized work instructions and lead team training initiatives
- check_circleMonitor productivity and quality metrics to ensure high team performance
- check_circleResolve payment exceptions such as price variances, missing POs, and duplicate invoices
- check_circleOversee end-to-end AP processing including invoice intake, matching, approvals, and payment runs
- check_circleEnforce payment controls to prevent fraud and ensure financial security
- check_circleLead, coach, and develop the AP team through performance reviews and goal setting
- check_circleManage daily work queues and allocate tasks to meet service level agreements
Requirements

- verifiedStrong experience with Microsoft Office programs, specifically Excel

Nice to Have
Strong understanding of GAAP principles related to AP. Experience with Vendor relationship management and issue resolution. Process improvement experience (Lean/Kaizen preferred). Previous supervisory experience. Experience with complex Excel spreadsheets. Report writing experience.
