We are seeking dedicated Summer Food & Nutrition Team Members to support the Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) at our Hillsboro-Deering Elementary School and Middle School Kitchen. This initiative ensures that approximately 200-250 children have access to nutritious breakfasts and lunches during the summer months.
As a team member, you will play a vital role in the food distribution lifecycle. Your day will involve a dynamic mix of kitchen preparation and outdoor service. You will be responsible for making, labeling, and bagging sandwiches, as well as assembling and packing roughly 200 food boxes weekly. The role requires physically moving cases of food, coolers, and bags weighing up to 50 pounds to ensure efficient storage and timely distribution.
On Tuesdays, your duties will extend to the field, where you will hand food bags directly to patrons during pickup services and distribute food outdoors for 1.5 hours. You may also be required to drive a vehicle from the school to nearby pickup locations. This position demands adaptability, as you will work in both kitchen environments and outdoors, adhering to strict food safety regulations regarding footwear and hair coverings.
