Sonalysts, Inc. is a small, 100% employee-owned business (ESOP) founded in 1973 with a focus on sonar analysis for the Navy. Today, we support a diverse set of customers across the Navy, Air Force, Army, and commercial sectors. Our workforce is comprised of former and retired service members from all branches of the military, alongside professionals with wide-ranging commercial and technical backgrounds.
We leverage a small, central corporate structure coupled with a largely decentralized approach to project management. This allows us to remain agile and entrepreneurial while competing with larger defense contractors to provide rapid, innovative solutions. As employee-owners, our team members lead existing projects, develop new business, and win new work, solving the Department of Defense's most challenging problems.
We are seeking an Operations Analyst to support the Navy in the growing field of Subsea Seabed Warfare (SSW). In this role, you will be a key contributor to the development of innovative technologies, doctrine, policies, and prototype projects designed to expand SSW and other undersea warfare capabilities throughout the maritime force.
You will serve as a vital liaison between active-duty military, engineers, and program offices on new acquisition programs. Your work will involve developing supporting documentation such as tactics and concepts of operation, executing modeling and simulation studies to refine tactical guidance, and supporting the transition of concepts from prototypes to fleet release. This position offers the opportunity to apply your technical or operational knowledge to solve challenging problems for the military while benefiting from the flexibility and empowerment of working in a small business.
As an employee-owner, you become an integral part of an innovative company culture that prioritizes work-life balance and professional growth. Our Flexible Time Program allows you to arrange your work around personal appointments and family needs, provided your responsibilities are met on time. We offer a comprehensive benefits package including a 401(k) plan with a company match, an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP), health and dental insurance, and professional development opportunities such as tuition reimbursement and targeted skills programs.
To apply, candidates must submit a cover letter addressing the following subject: "Explain how your background is relevant to understanding SSW and working as an analyst in SSW." Please note that all submissions must be unclassified.
Candidates must be U.S. citizens possessing an active U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) SECRET security clearance. Maintaining a clearance involves a comprehensive background check; eligibility requires demonstrating sound financial management, a clean criminal record, and limited foreign contacts.
Note: This position is not available to residents of New York City due to local law restrictions.
