As a Structures Liaison Engineer within the Engineering department, you serve as the critical bridge between Kalitta Air's internal operations and external regulatory and manufacturing entities. Your primary mission is to ensure the structural integrity and regulatory compliance of the fleet aircraft and appliances, supporting maintenance, repair, and modification efforts that keep the airline operational.
In this role, you will analyze in-service defect data to develop corrective action plans and evaluate Federal Regulations, Airworthiness Directives (ADs), and Service Bulletins (SBs) to maintain up-to-date Maintenance Inspection Programs. You will interface with FAA DER Engineers, manufacturers, and MRO facilities to secure necessary regulatory approvals for modifications and repairs. Additionally, you will coordinate 24/7 technical support for Ground and Flight Operations, ensuring that all engineering documentation is developed on schedule and that manufacturer manuals remain accurate.
This position is performed primarily in a construction and maintenance setting. The environment is characterized by a loud noise level, and the role requires physical capabilities such as reaching, standing, walking, and occasionally lifting or moving objects weighing more than 50 pounds.
