Piper Companies is seeking a Staff System Hardware Architect to support advanced hardware development within the high-performance computing and electronics manufacturing industry. This role is based onsite near San Jose, CA and is designed for a staff-caliber board-level designer who thrives in hands-on system integration, board bring-up, and high-speed interface validation while influencing overall system architecture.
In this position, you will act as a lead architect within the hardware organization, guiding overall system design direction. You will partner closely with contract manufacturers and component vendors to evaluate, select, and integrate critical chips and modules. The role requires a strong ownership mindset, allowing you to influence technical direction and drive product qualification efforts without formal people management responsibilities.
The hiring process for this role includes an initial screening followed by technical evaluations focused on system-level design and signal integrity expertise. Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States and obtain and maintain an Active U.S. Government Secret Clearance.
