About the Role
The Staff Interpreter serves as a vital liaison to the language needs of the non-English speaking community. This role exists to bridge linguistic and cultural barriers, ensuring appropriate communication, the delivery of quality healthcare, and support services for all patients and families.
In this position, you will be the voice that connects patients, families, and providers. You will engage in open and clear communication, utilizing accurate oral interpretation to facilitate care. A day in the life involves conducting purposeful rounding, communicating observations to the healthcare team, and assisting patients as they navigate the hospital system. You will also provide comfort measures and respond to non-clinical needs, often working in challenging situations that may involve delivering difficult messages, including end-of-life care.
