About the Organization

The Allied Command Transformation (ACT) contributes to preserving the peace, security, and territorial integrity of Alliance member states by leading Warfare Development at the Strategic Command level. This effort enhances NATO's posture, military structures, forces, capabilities, and doctrines.

The Resources and Management (RM) Directorate acts on behalf of SACT on all internal management and resource-related issues, monitoring the coherency of ACT plans to ensure the organization remains effective, efficient, and continuously improving.

The ACT Office of Security holds staff responsibility to execute, provide, and coordinate security services for the headquarters, its subordinate commands, and the NATO community at large. This office operates at all levels of command to ensure the security of personnel, assets, and resources.

About the Role

The Staff Assistant (Security Accreditation) serves as a key support within the ACT Office of Security, assisting the coordinating authority within HQ SACT and all ACT subordinate commands regarding CIS Security and Security Accreditation. The incumbent plays a vital role in developing NATO and ACT policy, directives, and guidance related to all aspects of CIS Security.

This position is designed to directly influence the delivery of high-assurance and interoperable security capabilities. The role bridges technical security requirements with strategic policy, ensuring that ACT's critical information systems meet rigorous NATO standards. The incumbent will act as a representative for ACT in multinational environments, presenting positions in a firm yet tactful manner to gain agreement at NATO boards and working groups.

Hiring Process & Application Instructions

Candidates must visit the HQ SACT website for full details on eligibility criteria and the application process. Please note the following critical requirements:

  • Pre-screening Questions: Answer each pre-screening question completely in English. Do not use phrases such as "please see attached CV" or "please see annex." Applications containing such expressions will be rejected immediately.
  • Application Form: Pay particular attention to the Education and Experience section. Populate this with detailed career history, educational achievements, and certifications relevant to the application.
  • AI Usage: NATO will not accept any phase of the recruitment and selection process prepared, in whole or in part, by generative artificial intelligence tools (including chatbots). Applications identified as AI-generated may be rejected at NATO's sole discretion.
  • Priority: The candidature of NATO redundant staff at grade G12 will be considered with priority.

The vacancy closes on 01 June 2026 at 17:59 hrs (EDT) / 11:59 hrs (CEST). Successful applicants will be required to obtain a NATO SECRET Security Clearance prior to contract confirmation.
