The Staff Accountant provides essential support for the University's accounting functions, serving as a key partner to the Vice President for Finance. This role is critical in ensuring the integrity of the university's financial operations, from daily journal entries and reconciliations to the preparation of complex audits. You will act as a primary point of contact for the campus community regarding budget-to-actual inquiries, bridging the gap between financial data and operational needs.
In this position, you will manage the administration of the Anthology Finance system, maintain fixed asset schedules, and coordinate closely with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Payroll to ensure accurate monthly closes. A significant portion of your time will be dedicated to preparing materials for annual Financial Statements, the Financial Aid Single Audit, and federal tax filings. You will also process invoices for federal, state, and private grants, ensuring all expenditures align with grantor guidelines and university policy.
