The Hardware Engineering, Air Launched Effectors Department is seeking Mechanical Engineers for our Tucson, AZ site. This role supports the full program life cycle, including early development, production support, and legacy sustainment activities across Air Launched Effectors products and subsystems. These critical products serve both U.S. Government and international customers.
As a Sr. Mechanical Engineer, you will take technical ownership of complex mechanical sub-systems, acting as a prime technical contact for design, manufacture, integration, and production sustainment. You will work autonomously with limited supervision, often leading small teams of junior engineers and collaborating across multiple functions such as supply chain, operations, quality, systems, and electrical. Your day-to-day involves bridging the gap between the engineering lab and the factory floor, ensuring that form, fit, and function are achieved through rigorous tolerance analysis and design for manufacturability principles.
Candidates for this position must be U.S. citizens, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for the required Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance (Secret - Current). An ability to obtain an INTERIM clearance is required prior to the start date.

Five years of work experience in mechanical design and design documentation. Mechanical aptitude to provide solutions to a variety of technical problems of moderate scope and complexity. Advanced degree in an Engineering discipline. Leadership experience with small teams (4-6 people). Supplier interaction and supplier management experience. Ability to work in teams or independently, flexible, demonstrates initiative. Experience in mechanical sub-systems packaging, materials, thermal, structural analysis, energetics principals, control systems, interconnect, airframe, or large assembly development. Strong interpersonal and communication skills; both verbal and written. Experience with PTC Windchill Product Data Management or equivalent configuration/data management software. Ability to travel to government and supplier facilities in support of program activities.
