As a Data Center Construction Manager, you will be part of a diverse, upbeat, and creative team tasked with solving fascinating problems constructing Amazon Data Centers. Our data centers are industry-leading examples of energy-efficient and cost-effective designs. At Amazon, we are all Owners, leveraging unique opportunities from design review to construction bidding, execution, and final hand-off to our customers.
In this role, you will serve as Amazon's owner's representative on construction sites daily, interacting with construction trades and managing the project scope, quality, schedule, and budget for new builds or general capital projects. You will work alongside partner teams such as Operations, Networking, Controls, Security, and Commissioning to build data centers that directly support our customers.
You will act as a leader in your specific discipline, whether it be construction management, building services, architectural, electrical, or mechanical engineering. Your day-to-day involves directing interfaces with construction general contractors during bidding, award, execution, punch-list, and closeout phases. You will create project scopes, conduct negotiations, evaluate bids, and manage documents, submittals, RFIs, change orders, and invoices. Additionally, you will drive construction teams to troubleshoot equipment failures, support commissioning and integrated system testing, and provide constructability reviews for electrical and mechanical designs.
The project for this role is located in Sidney, Ohio. You will be embedded on-site, managing the construction of mission-critical facilities from start through hand-off to operations. This involves analyzing construction progress and financials, recording key metrics, and contributing to initiatives aimed at improving construction efficiency and increasing data center resiliency.
