Day in the Life
A typical day involves a dynamic blend of direct instruction, collaboration, and advocacy. This includes conducting ongoing assessments to understand student learning styles and adjusting instructional strategies accordingly.
Your responsibilities extend beyond the classroom walls. You will plan and supervise assignments for teacher aides and volunteers, integrate technology into the learning process, and manage extracurricular activities. A significant portion of the role is dedicated to maintaining open communication with families and colleagues, ensuring a cohesive support system for each student. You will also serve as a positive role model, upholding the school district's mission while managing classroom behavior and, when necessary, providing physical assistance or restraint in accordance with IEP guidelines.
Working Environment

The physical demands include frequent standing, bending, and lifting, as well as the potential need to assist non-ambulatory students or manage physical restraints as outlined in student IEPs.
