About the Role
As a Special Education Teacher (Stat I) at our Junior High, you will serve as a vital partner in the academic and social development of students with diverse learning needs. This role exists to ensure that every student receives a tailored program of study that aligns with their individual interests, abilities, and educational goals.
In this position, you will create a classroom environment conducive to learning, utilizing a variety of instructional techniques and media to accommodate different physical and cognitive needs. Your day will involve planning purposeful lessons, diagnosing learning needs, and collaborating with district specialists, teacher associates, and volunteers to support student success. Beyond the classroom, you will guide students in maintaining behavioral standards, supervise out-of-class activities, and maintain open communication with parents and administration to ensure a cohesive educational experience.

Candidates meeting the minimum qualifications, including a minimum BA/BS degree and a Provisional Certificate issued by the Iowa Department of Education, will be considered. The Board retains the authority to accept alternatives to these qualifications as appropriate.
