This is no ordinary job, and our special agents are no ordinary individuals. During the course of their careers, special agents carry out assignments in both investigations and protection and may be assigned to multiple duty stations throughout the U.S. and abroad. The Role

As a special agent, you will be part of an elite team responsible for critical national security functions. Your duties will include providing protection for various protectees, conducting criminal investigations pertaining to the financial obligations of the United States, and planning and implementing security designs for National Special Security Events.

Hiring and Training Process

Becoming a special agent requires a rigorous selection and training pipeline. Successful candidates must complete 13 weeks of intensive training at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) in Glynco, GA, followed by 18 weeks of specialized training at the James J. Rowley Training Center in Laurel, MD.

Applicants must be prepared to sign a mobility agreement stating their willingness to accept assignments anywhere within the United States and overseas. The process also includes obtaining and retaining a Top Secret Clearance, passing drug tests prior to appointment and randomly thereafter, and meeting strict physical standards regarding vision and hearing.
