About the Role
The Sommelier is the architect of our wine program, responsible for developing and managing a diverse, high-quality selection that seamlessly integrates with our culinary offerings. This role is not just about pouring wine; it is about curating a dynamic, award-worthy list with a special emphasis on Napa Valley and international selections that tell a story.
In this position, you will serve as a bridge between the kitchen and the guest. You will collaborate closely with the Executive Chef and F&B leadership to design wine pairings for seasonal menus, special events, and chef's tastings. Your day will involve active participation in daily operations, from pre-shift meetings to floor coverage, ensuring that every guest interaction is guided by personalized recommendations and exceptional service.
Beyond the floor, you will lead the team's growth by overseeing staff wine education, tastings, and certification programs. You will also drive the business forward by analyzing sales reports, managing inventory, and working with the marketing team to promote the wine program through strategic events and partnerships. Ultimately, you will foster a culture of hospitality that reflects the values of Estate Yountville.

Key Responsibilities

- check_circleSupport FOH management with floor coverage, guest interaction, and service recovery when needed

Requirements
- verifiedMinimum 3 years of experience as a Wine Director, Sommelier, or equivalent in a luxury or fine-dining environment
- verifiedCertified Sommelier (Court of Master Sommeliers) or equivalent preferred
