JT4, LLC provides engineering and technical support to multiple western test ranges for the U.S. Air Force, Space Force, and Navy under the Joint Range Technical Services Contract (J-Tech II). We develop and maintain realistic, integrated test and training environments, preparing the nation's war-fighting aircraft, weapons systems, and aircrews for today's missions and tomorrow's global challenges.
As a Software Systems Engineer IV, you will serve as a senior member of our work unit, managing complex software and systems projects while providing technical guidance to staff. This role is critical for defining and solving high-complexity technical issues with far-reaching significance. You will act as the system architect, overseeing the overall design and configuration management of systems, from capturing customer requirements at a system level to implementing designs through software coding or hardware.
In this position, you will interact regularly with customers and project managers, establish positive client relations, and support new business pursuits by leading proposal efforts as a technical consultant. You will also plan and execute unit, integration, and system testing while managing maintenance and sustainment activities. The role requires a deep understanding of live-virtual-constructive simulation and aircraft avionics, specifically adhering to MIL-STD-1153 and MIL-STD-1773 standards.
This position is located at China Lake and is not eligible for telework. An ideal candidate will possess a current Secret clearance and must be eligible for a Top Secret clearance. The role supports a federal government contract, which requires U.S. citizenship.
Candidates selected for this role will undergo a background investigation to verify clearance eligibility and citizenship. The interview process will focus on technical expertise in systems engineering, software design patterns, and experience with the specific simulation and avionics standards required for the mission.
