Northrop Grumman Space Systems has an exciting career opportunity for a Systems Engineer Level 1/2 to join the Software Safety Engineering team within the Launch Systems business unit located in Chandler, AZ. Be part of a team dedicated to keeping complex systems safe to manufacture, test, and operate.
In this role, you will define and evaluate safety requirements, ensure the implementation of critical safety features, and communicate with colleagues, customers, users, and other stakeholders whose lives are on the line in using these systems. You will interact with key internal and external customers and partners regarding system safety topics, working alongside a team of Software Safety and System Safety engineers to define, implement, and verify requirements to ensure inherent risks are mitigated.
You will be expected to understand the entire mission, including the launch vehicle, payload, ground support equipment, range infrastructure, and range safety interfaces. Your focus will be on how different components, subsystems, systems, and the integrated launch vehicle function and interact, with a specific emphasis on Software System Safety. You will apply the systems engineering process to define and verify launch vehicle and ground support equipment requirements to ensure safe operations and conduct system safety analyses to architect and implement a safe and robust system.
