Year Up United is an intensive, one-year or less job training program designed to empower young adults with the skills and support needed to launch successful careers. The program combines in-classroom skill development with access to internships and personalized coaching and mentorship. Through our industry-leading talent placement firm, YUPRO Placement, participants gain access to internships at leading organizations in the National Capital Region, including Fannie Mae, Merck, Okta, and Salesforce.
Participants receive a comprehensive blend of technical and professional training. In-depth classes cover critical areas such as Network Security & Support, Data Analytics, IT Support, Project Management, and Banking. Beyond technical expertise, the program focuses on developing professional business and communication skills, interviewing and networking strategies, and resume building.\n During the internship phase, students earn an educational stipend of $525 per week. The program is built on a foundation of ongoing support and guidance to help students navigate their career launch. The impact is measurable: 72% of Year Up United graduates are employed and/or enrolled in postsecondary education within four months of graduation, with employed graduates earning an average starting salary of $53,000 per year.
To apply to Year Up United, candidates must be high school graduates or GED recipients who are eligible to work in the U.S. Applicants must be highly motivated to learn technical and professional skills and must not have obtained a Bachelor's degree. Additionally, candidates must be available Monday through Friday throughout the duration of the program. Applicants may be required to answer additional screening questions during the application process.
