This position serves as a Software Engineering and Development Technical Lead/Architect SME within the National Capital Region, covering the Pentagon, Falls Church, and Fairfax. The role is pivotal to the War Data Platform (WDP), a key initiative within the U.S. Department of War's AI-First strategy introduced in early 2026. The WDP focuses on operational warfighting data and aims to accelerate the deployment of artificial intelligence on the battlefield, extending across Unclassified, Secret, and Top Secret environments.
In this capacity, you will provide authoritative architectural leadership and DevSecOps governance across development, integration, and production enclaves. You will define and govern the technical baseline supporting full lifecycle software engineering activities, ensuring compliant, scalable, and mission-ready software delivery. Your day-to-day involves partnering with system security, environment sustainment, and program management teams to drive technical excellence and code reuse. You will mentor engineering personnel through structured knowledge transfer on secure coding and tool usage, while supporting government-led agile prioritization with technical input and workload estimation.

Active Top Secret (TS) security clearance with Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) eligibility. Experience supporting software engineering programs in DoW multi-domain environments, including parallel development across NIPRNet, SIPRNet, and JWICS. Familiarity with BigBang DevSecOps factory frameworks and Platform One or Cloud One environments. Track record of mentoring and elevating multidisciplinary engineering teams across secure coding standards, DevSecOps toolchain proficiency, and agile delivery practices. Experience integrating AI/ML model-serving capabilities, data analytics platforms, or advanced mission application components into hardened, compliant software baselines supporting enterprise DoW programs.
