We value attracting and developing top talent, fostering a culture that is engaging, accountable, and mission-driven.
The War Data Platform (WDP) is a key initiative within the U.S. Department of War's (DoW) AI-First strategy introduced in early 2026. The WDP separates business and financial data from operational warfighting data, aiming to accelerate the deployment of artificial intelligence (AI) on the battlefield. The platform extends to Unclassified, Secret, and Top Secret environments, supporting collaboration between Combatant Commands, Joint Staff directorates, Senior Executive Service leaders, and operational analysts.
This Senior DevSecOps Engineer serves as the principal architect and operator of the WDP's software factory and CI/CD pipeline ecosystem. Based in the National Capital Region (covering the Pentagon, Falls Church, and Fairfax), you will drive enterprise DevSecOps modernization across IL2, IL5, IL6, and JWICS environments. This is a senior technical leadership role responsible for setting strategy, enforcing security automation at every stage of the software lifecycle, and sustaining the continuous delivery infrastructure that underpins the WDP's multi-enclave platform.
You will partner with engineering, cybersecurity, and platform-operations teams to coordinate incident-response activities and govern change-control processes. Your day-to-day involves designing secure pipelines that automatically build, test, scan, and deploy infrastructure and application code, while maintaining documentation and knowledge-transfer materials. You will produce architecture updates and maturity assessments to accelerate release cycles and enhance mission readiness.
Please Note: This position is contingent upon contract award.
Candidates selected for this role must possess a current Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret (TS) clearance with Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI). The interview process will assess technical expertise in federal DevSecOps environments, problem-solving capabilities, and the ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders ranging from peers to executive management.
