Our Ride and Fleet Backend team is the backbone of Zoox's autonomous fleet management system. We are the brains behind connecting riders and vehicle operators to our robots, ensuring the efficient dispatch of missions across our fleet. Zoox robots handle a diverse range of tasks, including Rideshare Trips, Charging, Cleaning, Return to Depot, R&D missions, and Roaming missions.
Zoox is developing the first ground-up, fully autonomous vehicle fleet and the supporting ecosystem required to bring this technology to market. Sitting at the intersection of robotics, machine learning, and design, we aim to provide the next generation of mobility-as-a-service in urban environments. We are a fast-moving, highly execution-oriented team looking for top talent to share our passion for challenging the status quo.
You will join a team dedicated to building out the Fleet Dispatch System. In this role, you will design and build a scalable, efficient, and robust robotaxi dispatch service that serves as the core of our operations. Your work will involve crafting and refining algorithms for real-time dispatch optimization and route planning, leveraging operational research techniques to solve complex problems.
Day-to-day, you will apply methods such as linear programming, integer programming, stochastic processes, and queuing theory to optimize our fleet's performance. You will use these tools to analyze data, forecast demand, and model transport networks, ultimately integrating these optimization algorithms into the robotaxi platform. You will also build and utilize simulation models to test the effectiveness of dispatch strategies before deployment.
We may use artificial intelligence (AI) tools to support parts of the hiring process, such as reviewing applications, analyzing resumes, or assessing responses. These tools assist our recruitment team but do not replace human judgment; final hiring decisions are ultimately made by humans.
If you need an accommodation to participate in the application or interview process, please reach out to [email protected] or your assigned recruiter.
We are looking for individuals who are passionate about learning new technologies and domains. We value strong problem-solving, analytical, and quantitative skills, and we encourage our team members to iterate quickly and efficiently on building end-to-end experiences. Join us to be part of a team that is redefining urban mobility.
