About the Team

Come work for Amazon Web Services (AWS) Outposts, a highly recognized hybrid cloud offering. AWS Outposts is an on-premises version of the AWS public cloud, providing customers access to robust AWS services and the latest generation of EC2 instance types.

Our team operates like a start-up within a big enterprise. We are responsible for managing the network route between the AWS region and Outposts sites, EC2 instance platforms running at customer sites, and the software deployments that run the core infrastructure of AWS Outposts services and EC2 Edge networking instances. This structure allows us to take risks, experiment, and flex our technical muscles. It offers a unique opportunity to be part of the product's growth story from Day 1.

About the Role

We are looking for a Software Development Engineer interested in building and managing systems at scale, with a passion for software-defined networking, low-level programming, and building high-performance applications with limited resources.

This position involves on-call responsibilities, typically for two weeks every 2-3 months. We strive to ensure our systems are fault tolerant to avoid paging in the middle of the night or on weekends. When we do get paged, we work together to resolve the root cause to prevent pages for the same issues twice.

We believe good code reviews raise our code quality, grow our technical acumen, and provide opportunities to support and share knowledge within the team. We are responsible for supporting our own code in production, take our code reviews seriously, and ship code every day.
