Our team delivers software services and infrastructure for the Amazon networking OS. We are a builder tools team: we build tools for other builders. Our goal is improving the developer experience by providing world-class tooling that empowers, enables, and fosters ideas. We champion great engineering practices—we make the right things common, common things easy, and ensure uncommon things are possible. We craft great tools that are simple, intuitive, reliable, and "feel nice," reducing friction and increasing output for the same input.
AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We are the people who keep the cloud running, supporting all AWS data centers and the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. We work on the most challenging problems, with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain.
You will join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. We serve many customers and play a critical role with a multiplying effect across Networking services. We run very lean and scale with the business without repeated technical or operational burden.
You will join us to influence, innovate, and raise the bar in our mission to design the future and better daily lives. As a Senior Software Development Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the definition, vision, design, roadmap, development, and operationalization of customer-facing services. You will be given an outcome and the freedom to set the direction based on data-driven decisions.
In this role, you will contribute to a critical and highly-visible function within the AWS business. You will work alongside other talented builders across multiple teams and have the opportunity to hire and shape the team to continue to outperform expectations. You will incorporate customer input to ensure consistency and intuitiveness of our services.
You must ensure our solutions meet the needs of our most important customers—our own developers. You will be a hands-on technical lead, working with customers to gather requirements and generate technical designs, carrying the project through all software lifecycle stages. You will develop products that enable builders to develop and operate robust, high-quality software and safely, securely, and reliably deploy it.
You will use your strong leadership and communication skills to mentor other engineers and provide training and support for our technologies. You will have access to senior leadership and engineering staff. Above all, customers come to us because we are a strong, high-quality, and dependable engineering org.
