About the Role
Meijer is seeking a dedicated Softlines Team Leader to oversee the apparel and soft goods sections in our dynamic supercenter environment. As a pivotal leader, you will manage department operations, ensuring excellent customer service and effective team management. This role provides an opportunity to influence merchandise presentation and team performance in line with Meijer's high standards.
The ideal candidate will bring a mix of fashion sense, retail management skills, and a passion for the Meijer brand heritage. In this position, you will supervise sales floor activities to ensure customer satisfaction and meet sales goals, while training and managing a team of associates in sales techniques and product knowledge. You will be responsible for ensuring visual merchandising standards are met and attractively maintained, coordinating with the inventory team to ensure product availability, and handling customer inquiries with a high standard of service.
Beyond daily operations, you will conduct performance reviews, provide constructive feedback, implement promotions in collaboration with store management, and monitor department safety and cleanliness standards. This role is designed for a customer-oriented leader who thrives on adaptability and problem-solving.
