This position offers a unique opportunity to serve within the Yale Department of Psychiatry's Juvenile Justice Mental Health program. Based at a contracted judicial placement facility, the role focuses on providing critical assessment and treatment to pre-adjudicated court-involved adolescents and emerging adults. The position is designed for a Licensed Social Worker or Licensed Professional Counselor dedicated to supporting youth through complex mental health, substance use, and behavioral challenges using evidence-based practices.
All candidates for employment will be subject to pre-employment background screening, which may include motor vehicle, DOT certification, drug testing, and credit checks based on the position description. All offers are contingent upon the successful completion of this background check.
As this is a healthcare worker position, successful candidates must meet specific health requirements prior to starting work. These include MMR and varicella (chickenpox) vaccine immunity, TB screening, hepatitis B vaccine or immunity, annual flu vaccination, and compliance with the University's COVID vaccine policy.

Ability to provide clinical assessment and diagnosis for adolescents using the DSM 5. Ability to complete detailed psychosocial assessments and multi-disciplinary treatment plans and document within an electronic medical record. Ability to assess and treat adolescents with mental health, substance use and/or behavioral problems using DBT and other evidence-based and best practices. Ability to provide training and consultation to clinical and residential staff. Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work in a multidisciplinary team environment.
Skills: LCSW, LPC, Electronic Medical Record, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, DBT, DSM 5, Clinical Supervision.
Education: Master's Degree in Social Work required.
