Peraton is a next-generation national security company that drives missions of consequence spanning the globe and extending to the farthest reaches of the galaxy. As the world's leading mission capability integrator and transformative enterprise IT provider, we deliver trusted, highly differentiated solutions and technologies to protect our nation and allies. We operate at the critical nexus between traditional and nontraditional threats across all domains: land, sea, space, air, and cyberspace. Our employees serve as valued partners to essential government agencies and support every branch of the U.S. armed forces, solving the most daunting challenges our customers face every day.
We are seeking a Senior SOC Operations Analyst to join our Federal Strategic Cyber programs in Warrenton, VA. In this role, you will be the backbone of our 24x7x365 operations, managing incident triage and coordinating with analysis and detection sections to identify and analyze technology and cyber impacts on IT assets and network infrastructure. You will ensure proper incident management while directing continuity of operations during emergency relocations, guaranteeing uninterrupted telecommunications, computer systems, cybersecurity, and networks.
Your day-to-day involves organizing and managing containment, investigation, and remediation efforts for security incidents. You will perform quality assurance on service desk actions and Remedy ticket submissions, monitoring and cataloging SOC and SIM emails to keep the triage console free of backlogs. You will partner with other incident response teams to maintain a deep understanding of threats, vulnerabilities, and exploits that could impact client networks. Additionally, you will monitor multiple data sources, including intelligence, media, and law enforcement reporting, to identify cybersecurity incidents. The role also requires providing classified and unclassified cyber risk briefings to civilian government agencies and community stakeholders, and potentially coordinating with external organizations, authorities, and senior-level leadership.
The application period for this role is estimated to be 30 days from the posting date, though this timeline may be adjusted based on business needs and candidate availability. By applying, you express interest in the role and the company. During the review process, selected candidates may be required to participate in an on-camera interview and a process to verify their identity.
