Shift Lead

About the Role

The Shift Lead serves as a vital bridge between clinical operations and leadership, ensuring the hospital runs smoothly across all shifts. This position is designed to provide continuity and operational support, guaranteeing that leadership is always onsite to assist associates and clients. You will work closely with the Practice Manager and/or Chief of Staff to foster effective communication among clients, associates, Field Leadership, and Central Team Support.

The role is a dynamic blend of hands-on veterinary support and leadership. On average, you will dedicate 80% of your time to paraprofessional duties—such as performing clinical tasks, managing client flow, and ensuring patient safety—while spending 20% on leadership responsibilities. This ratio may shift based on the hospital's immediate needs, requiring you to use sound judgment to prioritize tasks that maximize productivity and profitability.

As a Shift Lead, you will exemplify the Five Principles of Mars, Inc., acting as a mentor to new associates and a role model for the team. You will help coordinate the paraprofessional staff, assist in scheduling, and ensure that the hospital environment remains safe, sterile, and welcoming. Your efforts directly contribute to building a culture where associates feel engaged and clients receive world-class preventive care.
