MetroPlan Orlando is the region's designated metropolitan planning organization, dedicated to shaping a sustainable and connected future for Central Florida. The team is passionate about building safe, multimodal transportation systems that serve all residents.
This role serves as the agency's in-house bicycle and pedestrian planning expert, supporting the safety planning program under the supervision of the Manager of Project Development. You will lead the pedestrian and bicycle count data collection program, manage trend tracking, and maintain historic crash databases. Beyond technical analysis, you will act as a subject matter resource on crash data and safety tools, coordinating with local governments, FDOT, and regional partners. A significant portion of the role involves public engagement, where you will prepare and deliver presentations to technical advisory committees, elected officials, and community groups, serving as the primary liaison for various safety and non-motorized traffic groups.
Based in beautiful downtown Orlando with convenient access to the Church Street SunRail Station, Lymmo service, and LYNX bus stops, the office setting includes some in-field activities. The role requires the ability to work regularly in non-hazardous outdoor weather conditions, move safely over uneven terrain, and wear personal protective gear as required. While most duties are performed at a desk, the position involves stationary work for approximately 50% of the time and the ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
