Senior Transmission Line Designer 1

About the Role

This position is based on a hybrid work schedule, requiring in-office work three days per week at the Sargent & Lundy office in Peachtree Corners, GA. You will join a collaborative project team environment, working alongside engineers and other Electrical and Structural designers to develop transmission and distribution line drawings and designs.

In this role, you will apply your computer-aided drafting and design skills while receiving hands-on training in 3D design software environments, such as AutoCAD 3D and/or MicroStation. Your work will involve developing transmission line plans, profile drawings, hardware details, material lists, and grounding details. You will create master sketches to scale that illustrate the relationship of proposed installations to existing facilities, including exact specifications and dimensions. This process requires direct collaboration with engineering staff to interpret input from various sources, such as engineering specifications, weight and volume calculations, and stress factors.

You may also accompany project team members on walkdowns at client facilities to gather essential information for design projects. Additionally, you will interface with vendors and construction contractors, explaining your drawings to facilitate appropriate design adjustments.
