The War Data Platform (WDP) is a key initiative within the U.S. Department of War's (DoW) AI-First strategy introduced in early 2026. The WDP focuses on operational warfighting data and aims to accelerate the deployment of artificial intelligence (AI) on the battlefield. Extending to Unclassified, Secret, and Top Secret environments, the platform supports collaboration between Combatant Commands, Joint Staff directorates, Senior Executive Service leaders, and operational analysts.
The Senior Tier-4 Model Serving Support Lead serves as the authoritative escalation owner for AI and machine learning model-serving pipelines, production endpoints, and model zoo operations across the WDP Core Integration's full multi-enclave environment. Based in the National Capital Region (covering the Pentagon, Falls Church, and Fairfax), this role bridges platform engineering, cybersecurity, and cross-service mission partners to sustain uninterrupted AI model-serving performance in direct support of DoW missions.
You will act as the primary point of contact for critical incidents, directing escalation workflows by activating incident bridges and coordinating engineering response actions. Your day-to-day involves applying enterprise observability and container orchestration tooling to diagnose serving failures, analyze telemetry, and guide stabilization activities across classified network environments. You will lead coordination with Platform One, Cloud One, and multi-national engineering teams to maintain operational readiness for serving pipelines and cross-domain transfer workflows. Additionally, you will conduct structured post-incident analysis to reconstruct failure sequences and document mission-assurance considerations for future release cycles.
Note: This position is contingent upon contract award.
Applications are reviewed based on the specific requirements for this contingent role. Qualified candidates will be contacted for further steps in the selection process.
