The War Data Platform (WDP) is a key initiative within the U.S. Department of War's (DoW) AI-First strategy introduced in early 2026. The WDP focuses on operational warfighting data and aims to accelerate the deployment of artificial intelligence (AI) on the battlefield. This platform extends to Unclassified, Secret, and Top Secret environments, supporting collaboration between Combatant Commands, Joint Staff directorates, Senior Executive Service leaders, and operational analysts.

About the Role

This Senior ML Serving Engineer will work within the National Capital Region, covering the Pentagon, Falls Church, and Fairfax. Please note: This position is contingent upon contract award.

You will implement the model-runtime deployment pattern used across WDP Core Integration AI and machine learning serving environments. Your work ensures consistent, secure, and high-performance model delivery to DoW missions and senior leaders. You will partner with Platform One, Cloud One, multi-national engineering teams, and cross-service mission partners to strengthen operational readiness and reinforce deployment consistency across all enclaves. The role involves navigating complex security architectures, including SIPR and JWICS, to resolve enclave-specific runtime constraints and align deployment templates with cross-domain security requirements.

Hiring Process

Candidates must possess a current Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret (TS) security clearance with Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI). The selection process will prioritize candidates who can demonstrate extensive experience in secure DoW or equivalent settings and proficiency with the required Kubernetes and containerization ecosystems.
