About the Role

Peraton's Cyber Mission sector is seeking a Senior Threat Hunter to support our Security Operations Center (SOC). In this role, you will be at the forefront of our defense strategy, conducting proactive, intelligence-driven threat hunting to identify malicious activity that evades traditional security controls. You will develop and test threat hypotheses based on adversary tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs), leveraging frameworks such as MITRE ATT&CK to stay ahead of emerging threats.

Your day-to-day involves analyzing endpoint, network, cloud, and log data to detect advanced persistent threats, insider threats, and anomalous behavior. You will collaborate closely with SOC analysts and incident response teams to validate findings and support containment, eradication, and recovery efforts. Beyond detection, you will lead root cause analysis and post-incident reviews to improve SOC detection and response maturity. You will also mentor junior analysts, contribute to SOC training and playbooks, and produce high-quality threat intelligence reports and operational briefings for both technical teams and leadership.

This position is based in Chandler, AZ, or Washington, DC.
