This position serves as a pivotal technical leader within the division, focusing on the implementation of product design requirements for autonomous Unmanned Surface/Underwater Vehicles (aUSVs/aUUVs), Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (AUVs), and Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROVs). The Senior Staff Mechanical Engineer will drive the development of critical systems, including pressure vessels, electro-mechanical assemblies, vehicle control schemes, and propulsion systems.
In this role, you will provide direction for mechanical systems and lead the research and development of new components. You will interface with Systems, Electrical, Quality, and Safety/Human Factors teams to define and implement customer requirements. The position requires a strong ability to manage system-level design considerations, lead cost/benefit trade-off analyses, and ensure adherence to quality systems and intellectual property protection. You will also mentor engineering staff, present technical results to customers, and provide technical leadership to key subcontractors and suppliers.

Prior DoD industry experience. Experience packaging electronics and sensor with respect to CB/CG separation and weight. Experience with OpenProp, XFOIL and modeling of mechanical systems in Matlab. Familiarity with Mil Standards, ruggedized equipment design and environmental test requirements. Knowledge of materials and corrosion control. Experience with ANSI Y14.5 Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T). Master of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Skills: Solidworks, Autocad, Creo, Ansys, Icepak, Mechanica, MS Office, Earned Value, Cost Account Manager, Model-Based Systems Engineering.
Education: Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering required; Master of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred.
