L3Harris Airborne Imaging in Rochester, NY, delivers end-to-end technology solutions connecting the space, air, land, sea, and cyber domains in the interest of national security. Our mission-critical needs are always in mind as we develop specialized firmware for multi-spectral imaging systems.
The Senior Specialist, Electrical Engineering serves as a highly motivated FPGA design engineer within our Airborne Imaging group. In this role, you will develop, simulate, and integrate highly specialized firmware designs targeting multi-spectral imaging systems. You will act as a lead designer, working semi-autonomously to potentially drive a small team of firmware engineers through coding, simulation, code analysis, and circuit card design support.
Your day-to-day involves decomposing system and box-level requirements into FPGA specifications, architecting digital solutions, and performing formal lab verification of functional imaging systems. You will lead the full lifecycle development of VHDL designs, refine firmware development processes, and support the planning and execution of project plans, design reviews, and production releases. Additionally, you will mentor younger engineers and support customers with the use and troubleshooting of fielded products.
