The mission of Speechify is to make sure that reading is never a barrier to learning. Key Responsibilities
- check_circleLead design, architecture, and development of native Windows desktop applications using C#, XAML, and WinUI
- check_circleDefine and enforce best practices for code architecture, performance, memory usage, and cross-version compatibility
- check_circleCollaborate with product designers and stakeholders to shape feature planning and long-term roadmap for the Windows platform
- check_circleIdentify, diagnose, and resolve complex bugs, performance bottlenecks, memory leaks, and rendering issues
- check_circleTake ownership of the full feature lifecycle from conception and design through testing, release, and maintenance
- check_circleDrive accessibility efforts by integrating and validating support for Windows accessibility APIs and screen-reader support
Requirements
- verified3+ years Windows desktop application development
- verifiedExperience with Windows App SDK, WinUI, C#, XAML

Nice to Have
Experience with writing automated tests for UI (unit tests, integration tests, UI automation tests) and familiarity with relevant testing frameworks. Experience with performance optimization for desktop apps (memory usage, startup time, rendering performance, high-DPI support, responsiveness under load). Experience with localization/globalization, right-to-left UI support, internationalization, and accessibility for multiple regions. Familiarity with telemetry, analytics, crash reporting, logging, and error monitoring in desktop applications. Previous experience in shaping CI/CD workflows, release pipelines, and deployment strategies for desktop applications. Demonstrated ability to take ownership of feature areas or modules and drive them long-term, including maintenance, refactoring, and technical debt management.
