With deep domain expertise, advanced technical capabilities, and a proven track record of successful collaborations, the AI Enablement & Machine Learning team at CNN is accelerating our digital transformation through strategic applications of machine learning and AI technologies.
The AI Systems group builds AI-powered applications and systems that solve real problems for CNN's audiences and internal teams. Our work spans consumer-facing features (article summaries, weather summaries), internal AI tooling for editorial, product, design, engineering, and business teams, content and product classification systems, and the AI platform that powers it all—prompt management, evaluation, caching, versioning, deployment, and tenant management. We are held to the high standards our audiences expect from a news organization: reliable, accurate, and trustworthy.
As a Senior Software Engineer on AI Systems, you will design, build, and operate AI-powered applications and the platform capabilities that support them. You will partner with ML engineers, editorial and product stakeholders, and platform engineers to ship features that improve CNN's user experience and internal productivity.
You will tackle key challenges including building in-house LLM-based content understanding capabilities, shipping consumer-facing AI features to millions of users, maturing the AI platform for reliable deployment, and building AI-assisted workflows to drive productivity gains across the organization.
At WBD, our guiding principles are the core values by which we operate and are central to how we get things done. You can find them at www.wbd.com/guiding-principles/ along with some insights from the team on what they mean and how they show up in their day-to-day. We hope they resonate with you and look forward to discussing them during your interview.
