Electric Transmission & Distribution ensures the delivery of clean, safe, reliable, and affordable energy to nearly 16 million people in Northern and Central California. The team is responsible for the reliability and resiliency of PG&E's grid, managing over 100,000 miles of distribution lines and 18,000 miles of transmission lines. Comprising approximately 6,500 coworkers, the department actively engages in Lean Methodology, utilizing visual management in operating reviews to cross-functionally identify and solve problems. This position serves as a hub for engineering, testing, and analysis expertise across multiple disciplines, supporting various company organizations in identifying, diagnosing, and solving complex technical problems. The role goes beyond execution to provide proactive consultation, helping clients avoid future issues. You will conduct inspections, failure analyses, performance assessments, and evaluations on a wide variety of systems and components. A key aspect of the day-to-day involves partnering with management to create bid proposals and representing PG&E at industry association meetings or seminars. The role requires leading complex, innovative tests and overseeing the assembly of technical systems and prototypes according to engineering standards.
This position operates on a hybrid model, working from your remote office and your assigned work location based on business need. The role is based in Danville or San Ramon. Travel is required for this position, with frequency depending on the specific assignment, ranging from 10% to 75%.
