Job Description
About the Chef Ann Foundation
The Chef Ann Foundation is dedicated to ensuring access to fresh, healthy school food for all. Our work is grounded in the principle of equity, and we support and celebrate differences, believing that our team and community are stronger with every new voice. We are proud to be an equal-opportunity workplace.
About the Role
The Senior Program Coordinator of CA Pre-Apprenticeship resides on our Programs team and reports to the Senior Director of CA Workforce Programs. This role is designed to lead the implementation of the CA Healthy School Food Pathway (HSFP) Pre-Apprenticeship, ensuring a high-quality participant experience and smooth program operations.
The HSFP is a work-based learning experience aimed at preparing individuals for job opportunities in healthy, scratch-cooked school food programs. The program supports workforce readiness and professional growth for both new and incumbent school food operators. By offering a pipeline from entry-level positions through management and school food leadership—including Pre-Apprenticeship, Apprenticeship, and Fellowship roles—we provide professionals with the resources, hands-on training, and network needed to become confident leaders. This journey emphasizes five key areas: food, finance, facilities, human resources, and marketing.
As the Senior Program Coordinator, you will oversee the operations of the Pre-Apprenticeship program, managing a team focused on execution and participant support. You will lead planning and implementation efforts, including participant selection, onboarding, and reporting, while collaborating with various stakeholders to align district and participant needs. This position offers the opportunity to drive program improvements, leverage technology, and contribute to the broader mission of transforming school food systems in California.

Note: This position is expressly contingent upon the availability of funding. Continued employment is conditioned on the organization’s receipt of sufficient budgeted funds and ongoing approval by the organization. If funding becomes unavailable, employment may be terminated with at least 60 days' advance written notice.
