We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our Hardware Engineering Team at our newly constructed facility in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Here, you will play a critical role in developing Modernized M-Code GPS Receivers for defense programs. As part of this team, you will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects that make a real impact, from powering the Mars Rover to protecting the F-35 fighter jet.
This role combines collaborative, in-person work with independent tasks in a hybrid format, with time split between working onsite and remotely. 6+ years (or 4+ years with MS ME) designing, testing, and troubleshooting high-reliability mechanical systems; understanding in the application of heat transfer principles, strength of materials, materials selection, design for vibration environments; experience with mechanical engineering tools for design and analysis, including ANSYS Workbench/Mechanical, MATLAB/Simulink, Siemens NX, ANSYS; familiarity with design, analysis, and manufacturing standards associated with complex multilayer rigid and rigid-flex CCAs; knowledge of engineering development processes for aero/defense industry, including designing and testing to ASTM, SAE, DO, MIL-STD-810; self-starter with hardware development experience; exceptional degree of ingenuity, creativity, and resourcefulness; control account management experience; experience with low rate initial production (LRIP) / FRP, especially electronics manufacturing and test methodologies; familiarity with AS9100 / AS9145 compliant processes; strong written and verbal communication skills; active DoW security clearance
