The Space Vehicle Design Technical Manager leads and directs experienced professionals across multiple programs, focusing on the design of space structures, communications equipment, and final spacecraft deck layouts. This role is critical for hosting various payload types to support essential missions. The manager drives portfolio execution and workforce development through strategic hiring, staffing, career planning, and talent engagement initiatives.
In this position, you will manage the implementation of technical strategies and recommend operational plans that directly impact execution across your area of focus and the projects your teams support. You will provide functional management for a team of 20-40 engineers responsible for Space Vehicle level Mechanical and Electrical Engineering Design and Analysis. Additionally, you will lead training, talent development, and retention efforts, providing coaching and leadership development for a direct staff of individual contributors.
