About the Role
The Senior Manager of the National Excellence Program will lead the National Excellence Team USA, an initiative designed to support youth with the potential to play collegiate or professional tennis. This role exists to ensure alignment with the USTA Foundation Young Person Pathway while developing an overarching strategy to scale the program, measure its impact, and drive continuous improvement.
In this position, you will oversee regional events, manage combines, execute national activations, and administer individual player grants to support high-potential student-athletes. You will also lead talent identification efforts and collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders to foster a thriving tennis ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities
- check_circleDevelop and implement strategic plans for the National Excellence Program aligned with organizational goals
- check_circleOversee regional events and community combines from start to finish including RFP development and delivery
- check_circleManage the Individual Player Grant program from application through compliance monitoring and outcome tracking
- check_circleDrive the development and execution of National Excellence Program signature national activations
- check_circleManage program budget ensuring strategic resource allocation and fiscal accountability
- check_circleTrack program outcomes and impact metrics to measure effectiveness and inform continuous improvement
- check_circleServe as primary liaison with chapters, USTA section staff, teaching professionals, and key stakeholders
Requirements
- verifiedBA college degree and/or relevant experience
- verified3-5 years of program management experience
- verifiedFamiliarity with college athlete recruitment process and NCAA rules
- verifiedMust have managed a team of direct coaches or frontline program staff
- verifiedUnderstanding of budget management in non-profit context
- verifiedAdvanced competency in Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, and CRM tools
Nice to Have
High-level junior, collegiate, or professional tennis playing and/or coaching experience. Prior coaching experience and player identification. Experience with large-scale, national corporate donor activations and employee engagement initiatives. Experience with Salesforce, Novatus, and Concur.
